Demo Day 23
In the enchanting setting of OGR Torino, an exciting four-month journey came to an end on 12 December for eight startups from all over the world. The NextEdu23 Demo Day, a programme in collaboration with Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT and OGR Torino, offered a clear insight into the world of education technology through exciting pitches, keynotes and networking opportunities.
This event represents the final phase of an intensive acceleration journey that engaged NextEdu23 startups from September to December 2023. OGR Torino served as a melting pot of ideas where these eight companies from Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Romania and Ukraine shaped and refined their innovative solutions to support education and learning.
The Demo Day was a sequence of significant moments, starting with the welcome speech by Antti Korhonen, CEO of xEdu, followed by presentations on OGR Torino and the Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT. Niko Lindholm, Managing Director of xEdu, together with Dalila Rubino, Communications Manager of xEdu, introduced the NextEdu23 programme, kicking off a series of insightful presentations by the first round of startups: Three Cubes, Babilon, Medvoice, Knolyx.
One of the most important parts of the day was the keynote "What to know about investing in EdTech" by Maria Spies from Holon IQ, which gave a detailed insight into investing in the education sector.
The focus was on startups, with two rounds of presentations. The second round of companies that had the opportunity to present their innovative solutions were: Universapp, Feed Their Minds, Project Mint, Discentis.
A panel discussion on the current state of EdTech investment enriched the landscape with a conversation between Antti Korhonen and Maria Spies.
The formal part of the event ended with official announcements and farewells and opened the doors to the Demo Area on the Boulevard delle OGR Tech. Here, the startups presented their solutions interactively and offered participants the opportunity to experience the proposed innovations first-hand.
The Demo Day was not only a presentation event, but also an opportunity to explore what is going to happen to the future of education, connect with industry leaders and contribute to the growth of educational innovation at Finnish, Italian and European level.
